National Citizen Service (NCS) is a fun and exciting opportunity for young people to build skills for work and life whilst making new friends.
More than 200,000 young people from across the country have taken part in NCS so far. Over 500 of those young people have faced exciting challenges and made positive differences to their communities with us at Nottingham Forest in the Community during the past 12 months.
Our NCS programme is available exclusively to 15-17 year olds living in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire running in the Summer and Autumn* school holidays.
NCS runs in summer or autumn over four weeks; offering you the chance to find new friendships and experiences alongside exciting challenges leading towards making a difference to where you live.
Week One: you’ll live with your team at an outdoor activity centre, getting to know each other and experiencing the freedom of being away from home with new friends.
Week Two: you’ll be reunited with your group to live together in university-style accommodation, where you will work on some skills for work and life that make for a killer CV.
Weeks Three & Four: you get the chance to put everything you’ve gained from NCS into practice. Working with your team, you’ll design and deliver your own project that will really make a mark on your local community.
The graduation ceremony: This is where you will be presented with a certificate signed by the Prime Minister and the opportunity to become part of our graduate programme.
